FOUNDER
Justin Merritt is the founder and driving force behind Gorilla Souf Music, a Nashville-based brand rooted in music, culture, and creative development. A native of Nashville, Merritt brings a deep connection to the city’s evolving sound, with influences spanning R&B, hip-hop, and Southern music traditions.
He began his journey as a producer before expanding into artistry, developing a voice grounded in authenticity and storytelling. His early work led to a record deal with EMI Records, marking a pivotal step in his professional career.
Beyond music, Merritt is committed to building platforms that support emerging talent through education, mentorship, and real industry access. Under his leadership, Gorilla Souf Music continues to bridge music, fashion, and entertainment, creating opportunities for the next generation of creatives while contributing to Nashville’s growing cultural landscape.
